A drywall ceiling patch expands and contracts squeezing out seam crack patch,I use flex patch material. Help.
The house is on a concrete slab, clay underlayment that expands with wet
winters.No cracks in perimeter foundation, do not know under carpet.This
ceiling is 34 feet in length with LR & DR in same room.During summer l
patch with flexible crack sealer, winter sqeezes it out again.
You should use a material compatible with the drywall. That
would be joint compound. You will also need to use joint tape at the seams
of the patch. Go to Home Depot or Lowe is for specific instructions.
I do drywall patches for customers all the time and the reason you are
having a problem is because of the material you are using.
Try expanding the crack and refilling it. This will give more
expansion room caused not by foundation changes, but temperature changes
